Foiled Christmas Tree

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Lisa here, and I'm sharing a foiled A7 Christmas tree card today.  Yep, I'm still on my Christmas in July kick.  It's so fun!  I made this card using only one die, and I think that really says something for Tutti Designs that I could make this project using just this one die!  It's called Viney Christmas Tree and isn't it amazing?

It's so hard to photograph foil, but the tree is cut out of Christmas green foil. It's so shiny and bright in person!

I put Scor Tape on the back of the foil cardstock before cutting it with the tree die.  It makes adhering all the little detailed pieces a snap!

I wanted to show here how I cut out the centers of my foiled pieces so I can use them on another project later.  You can also see how I taped my ribbon down on the back of the front panel, too.  I put tape under and on top of the ribbon to keep it secure.

I almost didn't put the bow, but then I decided that it needed it.

I hope this inspires you not only to jump into your Christmas crafting, but to check out the amazing selection of Tutti Designs dies that Dies R Us carries.  You won't be sorry!!  --Lisa

Coffee = A Good Day

Good Tuesday morning!!  Lisa here with a caffeine fueled all-occasion card.  It's funny because I LOVE coffee candy and ice cream and cakes but I don't actually drink it.  I make a lot of coffee-themed projects, but I think the cool thing about this Tutti Designs die in particular is it can be a coffee cup or a tea cup.  I'll admit to drinking copious amounts of tea daily, both iced and hot.  Caffeine makes every day better, right?

I started my card by cutting the Tutti Designs Have a Good Day out of adhesive foil.  I like the adhesive foils and vinyls cause it saves me a step with fancy die cuts.

I knew I wanted the cup die cut on a circle, so I took a scrap of purple cardstock and laid my circle die on it before adhering the coffee cup.  That way, I don't have to worry about centering my die cut image onto the circle, I can tape my die in place around the cup once it's adhered. It's sort of like cheating, but it keeps me from ripping my paper when I put the cup down crooked and have to pull it up and start over.

When I first cut the bottles out, I decided I wanted to fill in all the die cut holes, so I glued them to foil cardstock with Bearly Art glue and fussy cut around them.

I still had one little area where my vinyl wouldn't lay straight, so I positioned one of my stones over it to hide my mistake 😎

I thought the card was missing something so I cut a couple of the Tutti Designs Cross Stitch Banners out of foil scraps.  Little banner accents always tie everything together.

I know I'm not the only one who needs caffeine to fuel her mornings!  Hopefully this inspires you to make some caffeine themed creations too. --Lisa

Framed Shaker

Happy Monday everyone and its another Monday make with Monica.  Today I am sharing a framed shaker card using Tutti Designs "Lily Heart Panel".  A die perfect for a card front all by  itself.

1.  First, I diecut the die using XpressIT paper or blending it paper  so that I could color the center with my copic pens.  I used YG06, YG23 and G28

2.  For the flowers I used R81, R83, R85 and R89 once I was done coloring I took a white gel pen and added some dots which adds a sort of sparkle look.
3.  I then adhered the diecut to a piece of acetate and use some foam tape for height and added some sequins for the shaker portion.

Bonjour

Hello crafty friends,

I'm back with my last post for March and for this term. I've had so much fun being on the Dies R Us Design Team for the last two terms and look forward to hopefully making it back on the team someday in the future.

For today's card I used the following dies:  Pinkfresh Studios Slim Fancy Diagonal Stripes, Tutti Designs Frilly Flower Frame and the Creative Expressions Bonjour, which is sadly not currently available.

I started the card be die cutting a piece of pattern pater with the Pinkfresh Studios Slim Fancy Diagonal Stripes and adhering it down to the front of a slim card.

Next I started working on the flower element by die cutting four Tutti Designs Frilly Flower Frames... 1 from white to use a my base.  2 from purple pattern paper and 1 from green pattern paper.  I used double sided tape on all these die cuts to make adhering them easier.   The flower has a lot of tiny openings and it took me more time than expected to get all the clean and ready (I ended skipping this section in the video, because it took so long).  But please note that it wasn't a die cutting issue.  The die worked wonderfully, the double sided backed tiny pieces just kept sticking to everything.  But I was finally able to paper piece the purple flowers and leaves onto their corresponding places on the white base die cut.  The final element was the added of the "Bonjour" sentiment.

Enjoy Nature

Hello readers, Alicia posting today.  I finally decided to dip my toes into the slimline popularity.  I chose a couple of primary die sets to begin.  I purchased Tutti Designs Slimline Stitched Rectangles and Karen Burniston Long Nature EdgesI felt they would definitely get me started with some great slimline edges.  I have used both here along with some Karen Burniston Critters.

I love creating the Karen Burniston Critters, they are so much fun and most are a lot easier than they look.  The squirrel below is only two pieces.  I used a pen and the die to ink the ears and face.  I inked the edges with a brown ink and added the tiny acorn.  The fox is a few more pieces. Most of the details are highlighted with ink as well.  I did cut an extra body to get the white pieces for the inside of the ears.  You could just put white paper behind but I felt the inlaid die cut is a more finished look.

The beauty of the butterfly comes from the paper.  I used the same collection for the background papers and the butterfly.  It is a very old collection from We R.

The turkey has a few more details.  I cut the red face piece from white paper and colored it red.  I did go the extra mile to create the neck from a white cut of the feathers detail.  I keep it in my stash and just cut another "loop" off every time I make another turkey.

I did not get a great pic of the raccoon.  I think I have an overload of pics already so please forgive me.  Here is one last look at my card.

Embossed Love

Hello Alicia posting a Valentine's/Love card today.  I had some great nesting square dies in from my Dies R Us stash and I thought I would mix and match for interesting layering.  I used velvet, metallic and textured card stocks for more interest.

I was really impressed with the beauty of the metallic paper embossed by the Sue Wilson die.  I took the small squares and placed them over the center rose in the heart die.  I taped them down for accuracy and embossed them in my Sizzix Big Shot.

I purposely turned them in various directions on the card.  I also cut the sentiment in the metallic.
