Thinking of You

Hello friends, it's Sandy Diller here with you today and I am excited to share some of the dies from the latest release at Elizabeth Craft Designs and available from Dies R Us.  This card was fun and easy because the die does all the work for you.  So let's get started.

I am using the Lake Scene die set and White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Using the Lake Scene die set - cut one scene and one of the postage stamp frame.
Using a low tack tape, tape the background down making a matching edge all the way around.
Using ink and blending tool, add color to background.  Distress Oxide Inks were used here, Broken China and Wilted Violet.

Carefully remove tape and place top layer on the colored layer using glue.

This is a 6" X 6" top fold card.  Cut coordinating cardstock 12" X 6" and score in center.
Cut square for the inside of card.
Using the Stitched  Fishtail Banners die set - cut one banner.
Using the Stitched Rectangles die set - cut one rectangle.
Using the Thinking of You die set - cut words.
Assemble inside of card as shown below.

Add colored panel to card front.

I hope you have enjoyed our little adventure to the lake and you have been inspired to try it.

Have a creative week,
S@ndy

Vintage Birds

Good morning Dies R Us friends ~ Birgit here with you today.  My project  is a bit vintage and reflects my love for birds and anything vintage.  This is my last post as a designer for Dies R Us Inspiration Blog and I just wanted to say thank you so much to Dani and Darlene for giving me this opportunity to work with you!  I've loved my time with DRU so much and will miss it!

I started by cutting the Impression Obsession Ornate Oval Frame out of gold foil paper and a light and dark pink so that I could layer the frame up using different color elements.

I glued the gold frame over the vintage bird image and then glued the next piece of the frame and trimmed it out using my scissors.

Isn't this frame gorgeous and just perfect for this vintage image?

Next, I prepared an A2 sized white card stock base by blending Broken China and Antique Linen Distress Inks to the front.  At the last minute I decided to stencil on some hearts using a heart stencil and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.

I assembled the card and adhered the word Hello from the Impression Obsession Greeting Set.  This is a great set as it has multiple sentiments in a great font.

Here's a snapshot of the supplies I used today:

"Smile" using lots of dies and layers

Hi ..it's Bev here today.  How are you? This DT project for Dies R Us showcases a Smile card made using lots of die cuts and super fun layers for depth and dimension.

Supply List:
Machine/ tools: Big Shot Express,
Other:  BFS Amber & Apricot Colletion, Cardstock, card base/ envelope, Tim Holtz distress Ink, gel dots

I started with a honeycomb die cut matted background. Pops the die cut for sure.

I then cut the butterfly spectacle and using my cutter trimmed to an even box shape.

I then matted the butterfly and added a border accent to the base piece. I inked alot of pieces for depth and dimension.

I then put the 2 panels together giving lots of layers. Using the dark and light shades makes even pop and looks perfect.

I die cut "Smile" and glued it down using ScraPerfect Best Ever Glue.

I added some gel dots for accents.

Here are some close up shots.

Sympathy

 Hello friends ...
Darlene here and I have a sympathy card to share with you today.
This is probably my least favorite card to create!
Only because it means someone has lost a loved one ... so sad!
Anyways ... here's what I've created . . .

Very simple yet with a touch of style.

I've used three dies on today's creation . . .

Memory Box 'Tree Blossom Stitched Circle Frame'
Memory Box - Dies - Tree Blossom Stitched Circle Frame

Tutti Designs 'Scalloped Stitched Nesting Circles'

Tutti Designs - Scalloped Stitched Nesting Circles

Tutti Designs 'Sympathy Word Set'

Tutti Designs - Word Set - Sympathy

Here are a few steps taken in the creation of this card.

First I die cut the Tree Blossom Circle frame from white card stock.  Then I realized the Tutti Designs circles were the perfect size to use for matting this circle frame so I spotted a scrap of 'sky/clouds' designer paper in my stash and thought it would be the perfect background.

I also used the next size larger Tutti circle die to cut a white matting panel.

Before adhering together, I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers JG1 & PL4 to color my leaves/flower.
Then I decided to add another floral panel so die cut just that portion of the Memory Box die, colored it with the same alcohol markers and snippet it from the frame.

And adhered it below the flower in the original die cut panel.

When all was said and done, I added a Prima flower at the base of my flower stems, used Nuvo white crystal drops for the flower centers and added my sentiment.

This could be used for a man or a woman I think.  Hopefully I won't need to mail this card anytime soon!!!

Another look at the finished card . . .

Tag Book Card

Hello and welcome, It is Barbara Campbell for you today with my last post for this sincerely fabulous team. The opportunities and amazing products in the store have really made me it possible to expand my supplies and knowledge. I am going to miss with group, but I will still be in touch. I will just be on the other side looking in.  On with this post.
I recently purchased a new die.  I had seen it used by others before and decided to buy it.  I sure wish that I had done that sooner, as I found this brand of die and the instructions  to be fantastic. I am talking about the Karen Burniston dies that are offered at the Dies R Us Store.
Here is my take on this tag book.
It looks like a tag, but if you open it up, this is the inside.
This tag book has been done horizontally, but I used it vertically.
I die cut evey die in the set and used them all.
I placed the tag die over some flowered pattern paper also available at the DRU store.
I fussy cut the flowers that I wanted to use for the front, and glued them to the black polk a dot paper.
Take a close look at the additional die cuts inside.  Most of the are from the same set.  You get so many to use and I used them all. I used the sentiment on the front and the inside too. See all of the little squares and borders that you an used to decorate your project?  Even the paper clips and the banner flags are included. Check out the instructions for any of the Karen Burniston  dies.
