Things that make me happy!

Greetings Dies R Us friends.

Today's card is brought to you by Summer! or so I'm dreaming about it being stuck in the cold, wet middle of winter in South Australia. And summer for me includes LOTS of time outdoors, eating delicious barbecues with friends.

Dies used include:

I've coloured this cute little Bugaboo stamp with Copics and used both the Spellbinders Standard Circle and Spellbinders Scalloped Circle die in a layered stack. I used the Poppystamps Simple Banner with some glitter cardstock and had this gorgeous designer paper which suited the barbecue theme perfectly. A strip of washi tape and a couple of twine bows and its done. Nice, sweet and simple.

If you haven't already popped over to join in the fun of our Challenge Blog, the current theme is Christmas in July! There are plenty of awesome DT creations from the talented Team A, and next week we will also be celebrating Christmas in July with a weeks worth of inspiration right here!

Until then, happy crafting.

First Birthaday

Happy Thursday everyone! Robin here with my inspiration design of the week for Dies R Us! One of my friends asked me to make a birthday card for her great granddaughter, who will turn one in August; I couldn't possibly say no!

I used Echo Park's "Bundle of Joy" paper pad for the floral and stripe. The edge of the pink dotted paper was cut with Impression Obsession's Border Duo 2 and the edges were sponged with Distress Ink. Next I cut the white Floral Eyelet Border, from Taylored Expressions, and added it between the floral and striped paper. I used two of the dies from Taylored Expressions, Tag Stacklets 1 to make my layered tag.  The flower was made using Elizabeth Craft Big Flowers 1 and Flower Set 2.  My greenery is from the Penny Black die set called Leaves and the name Olivia was cut using Impression Obsession's Alphabet Typewriter UC and Alphabet Typewriter LC.  I glued the letters onto a vellum homemade tag and attached with clear foam tape.  To finish the card I added two butterflies made from Memory Box Pippi Butterfly and Isabella Butterfly dies and added a small button for the center of the flower.

Don't forget to check out the DRU Blog and see what all the other design team members have created for your inspiration!

Until next week, thanks for stopping by, Robin

Lavender Fields

Hello again, dear friends!

Can you believe that July is here already! The summer is just flying by isn't it? Today I thought I would share some of that beautiful lavender so many people are growing in their gardens.  I started with some beautiful stamps from Power Poppy.  I think everyone loves flowers & I wanted to combine these great stamps with some equally great dies.  Here is what I came up with!

I chose Spellbinders Adorning Squares to frame the stamp and the beautiful border is made with a Spellbinders Lotus Borderabilities die.  Isn't it amazing how you can take a simple image & create a beautiful card just by using the right dies?  Be sure to head to the store to check them all out.  I can't believe how many companies we carry now!

And don't forget to check out the other talented ladies who are posting the rest of the week too!  You will LOVE their creations!  And for even more fun, head off to the Dies R Us weekly challenge for a chance to win!

I'll see you back here next Wednesday with a surprise!  Until then, have a great week & go create something wonderful!

Up! Up! and Away . . .

Hello Die Cutting Friends!

Darlene here to share another inspiration sample with you on this fine day.  But before I do, I wanted to wish you a Happy July 1st and remind you that today begins a new challenge over on our Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  The theme for the next 2 weeks is:  CHRISTMAS IN JULY!  We hope you'll come join in our fun challenges.  You can use any product line on your creations, as long as you follow the theme and use dies somewhere on your project, you qualify and could be chosen as the winner of a gift voucher to our Dies R Us store!!!

Several years ago hubby & I took a hot air balloon ride over Cinderella's Castle down in Florida at Disney World and it was wonderful!  I've had this fun Cheery Lynn Designs 'Hot Air Balloons' die set for awhile now and so today's the day to bring back all those wonderful memories by creating this card:

As you will see, the die set does come with Angel Wings ... BUT, I decided to show you how you can easily cut around these dies to make your background ... JUST IN CASE you misplace your 'angel wings' like I have! LOL!

I simply used a scrap piece of white card stock, sponged Tim Holtz 'picked raspberry & salty ocean' distress inks in a sideways pattern (when you mix these two colors you get the pretty purple), glued down my die cut and simply cut around the outside edge with scissors.

Dies used on today's creation:
 Joy! Craft 'Clouds' - 6002/0199

Here's another little tip:
For my 'sky' background, I again grabbed a few shades of blue ink and sponged around.  Then I die cut my Joy! Craft Clouds (set of 3) #6002/0199 and inked around the edge of my clouds for better definition.
FYI ... Dies R Us doesn't routinely carry Joy! Crafts dies, BUT ... they do run a special Pre-Order on Joy! Craft and various other companies from time to time that you can take part in (as I did).  Be sure to sign up for the Dies R Us Newsletter so you are notified about these sales!  They are usually a LIMITED TIME OFFER so take a minute and sign up NOW!

Well, that's it for me today!  I'll be back next Tuesday with another inspirational sample for you!  But, in the meantime, be sure to stop back each day of the work week to be inspired by my teammates Alicia, Mikha, Robin, and Sherri  ... very talented ladies!

See you next time ...

Simple Sympthy

Greetings Dies R Us friends.

I hate making sympathy cards as it's never nice to have to say goodbye to someone.
Here is a quick and  simple card which is elegant and classic.

Dies used include:

After cutting the papers to size the edge of the designer paper has been sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and distressed before sewing around the edges. After attaching the die cuts, I've finished it off  with a simple sentiment and also by adding some Liquid Pearls to give it a bit of a lift.

Dies R Us has also introduced a great loyalty rewards program too. For every dollar spent 1 point is earned which can be redeemed later. All details about the program can be found here.

Happy crafting.

Same Stamp Different Look!

Happy Thursday everyone! Robin here with my weekly inspiration for Dies R Us. The image is the same Penny Black stamp I used last week but I created a totally different look with a simple technique.

To create the background I used a painters tape technique! I included a Youtube link in case you are interested in using this technique which is a really fun and simple way to make backgrounds. I stamped the Penny Black image with black ink and cut the word "happy" from card stock.  The Happy is a die from Avery Elle-ments Simply Said, the word is layered on to a vellum banner and attached to the card using clear foam tape. A simple sentiment was stamped under the banner and I added some Candi embellishments to finish the card.

Have you stopped by the DRU Challenge Blog? We have 2 challenges a month; that's 2x the chances of winning a gift certificate to Dies R Us.

Until next week…thanks for stopping by, Robin

Ready to Party?

Hi, everyone!

Are you ready to party today?  I am!  The week is half over and that should be reason enough to celebrate all by itself!  What do you say we join some cute little bears who are ready to celebrate a birthday?
When I saw this cute digi by Sassy Cheryl, I knew I had to get it.  Not only do all kids love teddy bears, but there are a lot of adults who have collected them all their lives!   The dies I used on this one are as follows:
Spellbinders A2 Valiant Honor and Memory Box Happy Birthday Garland.

There are 4 beautiful dies with the Spellbinders A2 Valiant Honor and I used 2 of them on the inside of the card.  I love to decorate the inside as well as the outside to make the card REALLY special for the person who is getting it.  And with these beautiful dies, it is so quick & easy to do!

Hopefully, you have already checked out the beautiful inspirations from earlier in the week & will be back again tomorrow & Friday too.  Our designers are working hard to give you lots of fun ideas. Our Dies R Us Challenge Blog is another fun thing you can check!  You could be the lucky winner of a gift certificate!

Don't forget to check out the store for all the latest dies too.  We now carry dies from 35 different companies all under one store and we are adding new companies all the time!  Think of the convenience AND savings this is for you!  And free shipping over $35 domestic and $50 international. How sweet it is!

See you next week with some new ideas!  Have a great week & happy crafting and cutting!!

Sunset at the Shore . . .

Happy Tuesday Dies R Us Fans!
Darlene here with you again today, sharing a little summertime inspiration.

The first thing I wanted to use for my card today is this fabulous Cheery Lynn Designs 'Lighthouses' (set of 2) #B384.  Then I just started building my seaside scene from there.

My background scene was created using the Memory Box 'Findlay Frame' #98540.  The center panel cuts out so I simply sponged layers of Tim Holtz distress inks to create the sunset and adhered it back into the cut out.  I wish you could see the embossing detail on this lighthouse ... really cool!

Other dies used are:
Joy! Craft 'Summer Lovin' Flip Flops'

From time to time, the store opens a PRE-ORDER for European dies such as Marianne, Joy! Crafts, and many others.  So be watching for those pre-order sales because they are a LIMITED TIME offer.  To be sure you don't miss out, pop on over to the store and sign up for our newsletter.

Well busy day ahead so I'd best get movin'!
If you haven't played along in our challenges at our DIES R US CHALLENGE BLOG please pop over and check it out.  We'd love to see your creations and you have a chance of winning a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store!

Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see what Sherri has created!
I tell you ... these ladies are so talented they are certainly keeping me inspired!

I will see you again next Tuesday!
