Washi Tape Wild!

Hello, fellow crafters!  It's Julie with you today from Muddy Paws and Inky Fingers.  Are you like me and you have more Washi tape than you'll ever use?  Here's one idea for creating card front and using word dies.  Take a look!

Although this looks like patterned paper, it's really 3 different Washi tapes. Dies R Us Store sells Washi tape, so if you don't collect it like I do, or if you need matching (or contrasting one, if you wanted to give that a try), look in the Dies R Us Store.

Here's all the supplies I used on this card, then I'll explain the process:

I started in the middle of the card first, going from one diagonal point to the other with the solid red tape. I then worked out, alternating each side to keep my pattern uniform. I've learned from experience to rip the pieces of tape slightly longer than needed and tape them over onto the back sides. You can see the finished card front here and the excess that I left.

This is what the inside of the card looks like.  I "hide" this by placing a piece of white card stock over the top of left side of the card.

Here's the back of the card.  Again, this gets covered with card stock also.

Here's the inside with the Washi tape hidden.

The particular dies I used are by Spellbinders, but any sentiment dies would work.  I used the smallest heart die in my collection, like this set from Impression Obsession.

Before I leave you with another Washi tape wild card I created, I want to invite you to join the Dies R Us Challenges.  They run every 2 weeks and have easy themes to follow. I also want you to check out  our new sister store, Didi's Crafts, specializing in European crafts, and shipping to Canada!

Now, for that other card I promised:

I hope you check out this blog everyday for inspiration!
