Hello Everyone!
Darlene with you today! It's
really starting to feel like Fall in my neck of the woods so that means
the leaves are starting to turn color and I'll soon be seeing all those
gorgeous Fall colors . . . red, yellow, gold. Today's card is a 'crossover' between the end of summer flowers and the beginning of fall colors.
The dies I've used today are:
Step
1: was to cut a white panel 1/4" smaller than my card base. Then lay
it at an angle on my score board and score every 1/4" from the center
... point to point.
Step
2: I needed a colorful panel as the background for my glorious gerber
daisy die cut panel. I chose the Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Inks to
create that panel using the colors you see in the photo below.
Step
3: I chose the Tutti Designs 'Nesting Stitched Tags' as the background
shape vs using a circle or oval. This gave me a nice backdrop for my
floral panel as well as extra left over to die cut my sentiment from.
Here's a fun TIP I learned recently!
I
don't know about you, but I save all my cereal boxes, tissue boxes ...
any cardboard panels that can be used for a variety of crafting things.
Instead of using up all of your dimensional tape to achieve a little
dimension, simply cut a cardboard panel a little smaller than the panel
you are wanting to add 'lift' to and viola! Works beautifully!
Just enough dimension to add character and still very mailable!
For something a little different, I decided to position my Penny Black
'Celebrations' Happy Birthday sentiment both vertically and
horizontally.
I
probably could have done without the butterflies but they were already
cut and laying on my work table just begging to be used. As was this
pretty peach colored ribbon bow! LOL
I hope you've enjoyed what I've shared today! And, don't forget to come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.
