Above & Beyond!

Greetings Die R Us friends.

I'm back with another superhero card again this week. If you likeed my little super star from last week then you should love this one too.

Dies used in this card include:

This is my first effort at a tri-fold shutter card too and I love how easy it  was to create!

Here is my card closed up. It was cut from a 6" x 12" piece of cardstock and fits nicely into a standard C6 envelope.

I used the Impression Obsession Clouds not only as an embellishment, but also as a masked the background. How awesome does it look?! Check out the details of this great stamp 'Wonder Regan' from Sassy Studio Designs.

I printed out a simple card sentiment on the computer and die cut it with Spellbinders Classic Oval and also a matt from glitter cardstock with the Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Oval.

I used the Memory Box Cityscape Silhouette and die cut it twice, once with some glitter cardstock and once with black to emphasis it and to create a shadow. I did this too with the Die-Versions Pow! sentiment on the cover. It's a very simple technique, but it give so much definition!

I hope that I've given you some new inspiration, tips or ideas from this card. I had a great time making it up. Please visit the Dies R Us shop to grab all of these great dies (plus oodles more!!) and if you are like me and live internationally, then postage is FREE on all orders over $50!

If you are interested on how I created this tri-fold shutter card (with template dimensions) or interested in how I created this masked cloud background then please visit my blog for more details.

Sunflower Garden

Happy Thursday everyone! Robin here with my inspiration of the week for Dies R Us! I hope you hop on over to our store and check out all the new dies. It seems each week more companies are being added to the shop, we now have Lawn Fawn, with their coordinating stamps.

My card for the week was made for my girlfriend Judy, it was her birthday a few weeks ago. Just like Sunflowers, Judy always puts a smile on my face with her crazy life.

My  card uses two Cheery Lynn dies, Sunflower and Lattice 2.  Behind the Sunflowers I used Taylored Expressions Curly Swirlies die. The Swirlie die is such a useful die cut for that little flourish behind flowers and when you need a little something on your project but just don't know what.

I used a Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio 1 die to stamp the sentiment; what I love about this tag set is you can add a complimentary ribbon easily to your card without any trouble at all.

I hope you have been stopping by our Dies R Us Challenge Blog to see all the entries and the wonderful samples from our design teams.

Until next week…thanks for stopping by, Robin

Fast & Easy!

Hi, everyone!

Another Wednesday and time for my little bit of inspiration for you!  Today I want to give you a card you can put together in a hurry.  If you are like me, it is not unusual to spend several hours getting a card made. But let's be honest, there are those times when you need a card and just don't have hours to make it.  With the dies I used on this card, you can create any number of cards in a hurry, just by changing the sentiment. I made this card into a birthday card, but you could just as easily make it into a get well, thinking of you, thank you, or card of encourgement.  You only need 3 dies for this great card: Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourish, Spellbinders A2 Filigree Delight & Spellbinders Blooms One.

Here is a close up of the darling flower you get with this awesome Spellbinders Blooms One.

I hope you have already checked the inspiration that Mikha & Darlene have posted earlier in the week, and don't forget to check back tomorrow & Friday for Robin & Alicia's posts!

And remember to join in our next challenge on the Dies R Us Challenge blog too!

Catch you next week!  Until then, happy cutting and crafting!

Ooops ... a missed birthday!

Hello my friends!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Darlene here with my Tuesday inspiration creation for you!
You would think with all the cards I have made, I would remember to send one to family members on their birthdays!  But no ... now I needed to create a belated card!  LOL!   Worked out okay though because I was able to use some of the extra die cuts I had laying on my work table.

I am really enjoying these new Memory Box stencils!  They are fabulous for creating a quick background as I have done here.  This stencil is called 'Textured Honey Comb' #88521.  I sponged with Memento 'cantaloupe' ink first then did the outer edges with SU 'more mustard' ink.  Then matted my panel using SU more mustard card stock.

Dies used today are:
Poppystamps ' Picket Fence' - #827

I hope you've found inspiration in today's creation!  Don't forget to come join us at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  A new challenge is offered on the 1st and 15th of each month with a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store awarded to one lucky winner for each challenge.

Be sure to come back each day for NEW INSPIRATION from my fellow Dies R Us designers!
And, I'll see you back here next Tuesday!
Till then . . .

Birthday Balloon

Good day!!
Happy Monday!

Mikha is here, again! Please don't get bored, lol.
Gonna share you a card using Spellbinders - Opulent Oval and also Spellbinders - Floral Oval.

Where I used them are is totally obvious, right? :) But you really could get this beautiful combining result by using them!!

I simply coloured my Tilda and cut them with the 2nd dies of Spellbinders - Opulent Oval and then cut the largest Spellbinders - Floral Oval; layered them together.

And added some embellishments, flowers, pealrs, doily, lace and ribbon. All of them are my go to embellishments, hehe :)

I wish you enjoy this. And don't forget to pop on the store! We're having SALE for Memorial Day, last until today! Don't miss this chance!!

And if you haven't entered our Flower Challenge, there's still some plenty time to go! :)

Have a nice day!

Pow!

Greetings Dies R Us friends, fans & visitors. Yay for Friday!

I have a little boy who is puts the sunshine in my days! He has two speeds, ON &OFF (& it's only OFF when he is sleeping!) Needless to say that my day comprises of chasing after him constantly reminding him that he cannot fly & that if he rides his scooter down our steep driveway all the way from the top, then he will end up looking like a skeleton! He loves all things 'Superhero' too, so this card is for him or for any little boy out there dreaming they are a Superhero!

I use the Star Boy Luka stamp from Lala Land & coloured him with Copics to match my cute designer papers (from Pebbles). I used the Spellbinders Standard Circles to give me a basic 'frame' for my image. After layering my DP's I felt that it was 'missing' something, so I added the Impression Obsession Clouds to give it a bit of a lift.

Here is a close up of the 'Pow!' sentiment. How cute is this Die Versions Sweet Petites 'Pow!' die?! I highlighted it some more by adding some Kindyglitz to it.

A quick reminder too that over at our new challenge blog and we are running our second challenge of 'Flowers'. So pop over to our challenge blog to join in the fun and to see more stunning cards created by our inspiration team, who are all in Team B of the challenge blog Design Team.

And don't forget to stop by the Dies R Us store to grab these dies, or any other die you are after from your favorite brands.

Thanks for stopping by.

You Did It!!!

Happy Thursday everyone! Robin here with my inspiration of the week for Dies R Us. It seems everyone I talk to has or knows of someone graduating; guess it is that time of year. And we know we could all use a congratulations card at sometime or another, so why not now?

I started this card sponging the Memory Box stencil, Flora, with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create the background. The sentiment is from Elizabeth Craft Designs and was cut from a contrasting blue cover stock. I used the inlay technique to keep the sentiment straight and easy to adhere to the card. Just remember to keep the itty bitty pieces from the background so they can go back into their assigned places in the sentiment.

The beautiful butterfly was created using two Memory Box dies, Lunette Butterfly and Oriel Butterfly.  The card was finished with Gems by Hero Arts.

Don't forget to stop by Dies R Us, your one stop shop for dies!  We are adding more dies everyday AND shipping is FREE for orders $35 and over.  The new Dies R Us Challenge Blog is an on going, twice monthly challenge. Our theme for the second half of this month is "May Flowers. Stop by and take a peek.

Until next week…thanks for stopping by, Robin

Spring is Bursting Out Everywhere!

Hello again, crafters!

It's Wednesday, once again and time for me to share a little bit of inspiration with you. No matter what part of the country you are in, spring has finally arrived and is bursting out everywhere.  So today, I decided to color up one of my favorite digi images from Sassy Cheryl.  This image just says spring to me and always brings a smile to my face.  To really make it the center of attention on my card, I used the following dies:

I began by cutting my finished image with Spellbinders Adorning Squares.  I then cut 4 Magnolia Cute Corners and glued them onto the corners of my card first.  If you get into the habit of always gluing down your corners first, it is much easier to center your main image in the middle of your card.

I just got this Spellbinders Blooms One die yesterday and am already in love with it.  The die gives you 3 different flower sizes which can be stacked for amazing flowers!  I decided to go with the 2 smaller of the 3 to keep the proportions of the card, and finished them off with a button which I colored to match the flower on my image.

I hope you have already checked out Mikha & Darlene's posts from earlier in the week.  And don't forget to come back tomorrow & Friday to see what Robin & Alicia have for you.   Hopefully, you will get an idea from one of our cards that you can use on our Dies R Us Challenge Blog!  If you haven't entered one of them yet, be sure you do!  It's lots of fun & you have the chance to win prizes!

I'm heading back to the Dies R Us store to check out all the new arrivals!  See you there!

Happy Cutting!

Wedding . . .

Hello Dies R Us Friends!
Darlene here with a Wedding creation to share with you today!
June is right around the corner and we all know that is the most popular wedding month in the year.  As a matter of fact, I have a June 22nd wedding to attend and I do believe THIS will be the card I'll be using for that occasion!

Dies purchased from our Dies R Us store that were used on today's creation are:

Marianne LR0300 border edge die.
This and other European company dies are offered from time to time as a pre-order special sale at our store.  Be watching for those special sale times as they are not companies carried on a routine basis.

This bell doily is so pretty and can be used not only for weddings but I think would be beautiful as a Christmas card creation all done up in red and green!

I recently obtained this pretty DCWV 'The Glitzy Pastels Stack' which worked perfectly with these ornate dies.  So even though I was thinking of doing this card in gold & white and had already inked the bells in gold, I die cut the center bells out again in the blue glitz paper and popped them up over the original bells on the doily. SO happy with the outcome.

You could add so much more to this card if your bride likes a lot of 'fluff' ... but my bride is a pretty 'simplistic' gal so this will be perfect for her.  I think this Cheery Lynn Designs flourish is so simple yet so elegant and pretty.

Hope you enjoyed my card today and found inspiration in it's design.  Remember to come join in our challenges at the new Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  You still have another week to get your card entered in the current theme which is 'May Flowers' ... hope to see you there!

Team mate Sherri will be here tomorrow to share another inspirational creation with you and I'll be back again next Tuesday!
Till then ...

Feathers with Taylored Expressions

Happy Friday Dies R Us fans!

Today I'm showcasing this gorgeous Taylored Expressions Light as a Feather stamp and die set.
This set comes with three sentiments, three different sized feathers plus two different feather dies.

Taylored Expressions Light as a Feather

I've kept my card clean and simple to let the stamps and sentiment take center stage. I lined up some gold striped washi tape stripes next to each other and cut three squares using Spellbinders Classic Squares for the base of my card. I then stamped each of the three feather stamps in different colours and die cut the two largest ones, then fussy cut the smallest feather. Here are a couple of photos of the two larger die cut feathers, and the sentiment.

To finish my card, I've used one of the sentiments from the stamp set, layered the feathers with some dimension on top of the squares and added a few sequins and liquid pearls.

And there you have it!

A quick reminder too that we have a new challenge blog and we have just started our second challenge of 'Flowers'. So pop over to our challenge blog to join in the fun and to see more stunning cards created by our inspiration team, who are all in Team B of the challenge blog Design Team.

And don't forget to stop by the Dies R Us store to grab this very useful and versatile stamp and die set, or any other die you are after from your favorite brands.

It's a Baby Shower!

Happy Thursday everyone! Robin here with my inspiration of the week for Dies R Us! Don't forget Dies R Us has a challenge blog and you have the opportunity to participate twice a month. Don't be left out, follow this link, Dies R Us Challenge Blog, and see what our challenge is all about!

What I love about the Onesie Notecard die is that you can use it as a notecard OR in my design I used it as an invitation to a baby shower! The sentiment is a stamp set from Waltzingmouse.

The beautiful lace dies, Border Carnivale and Anastasia Border, are from Cheery Lynn Designs.  For my greenery, under the small flowers, I used Taylored Expressions Flower Box Sprigs & Flowers die set along with Elizabeth Craft Design Bunch of Flowers #2

The wispy sprig under the bow is Nature's Song by Penny Black.

Until next week…thanks for stopping by, Robin

Making Decorative Frames

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

It's hard to believe that May is half over already.  Remember when we didn't think Spring would ever get here?  I hope you have been enjoying all the wonderful spring ideas on our Inspiration Blog!  If you haven't checked out Mikha & Darlene's posts from earlier this week, be sure to give them a visit!

Today I'm going to show you how to take one of your beautiful lacy dies & use it for the frame of a card.  It is really quite simple to do & lots of fun.  I'm sure once you make your first card, you will be hooked!  I will begin with a shot of the finished card, both front view & from the side so you can see how beautiful the frame is.  The image is from A Day For Daisies and is actually one of their freebies!  They have some amazing digi images and if you aren't familiar with them, you should check them out. And as beautiful as they are, they really need a lacy frame! I chose Spellbinders Floral Ovals for the inside and Spellbinders Decorative Label Eight for the frame itself.

This is the side view where you can get an idea of just how beautiful these frames are.

On to the easy instructions! To begin with, fold your cardstock in half and place the die you have chosen for the frame on top of your cardstock, being careful NOT to place the folded edge clear to the top! You want your die to cut out just part of the die, leaving partial edges of your fold in place to secure the card together. See the photo below.

This top folded edge doesn't go clear to the top of your die.

Next, cut a separate die out of single ply cardstock.  This completely cut die will be glued to the front of your folded card & it will cover up the fact that the top of your "folded" edge is not complete.

As you can see in this photo, you will have a folded card on the left and a completed cut on the right to cover the missing portion of the folded card.   Glue the completed cut on top of your folded card.  Attach whatever else you like and you have a beautifully framed card that will have everyone amazed!

Be sure to head over to the Dies R Us store to check out the latest arrivals! Remember shipping is free over $35 domestic and $50 international!  Also check out the new Dies R Us Challenge Blog too!  Lots of great prizes & a chance to share YOUR ideas with us!

Don't forget to come back here tomorrow & Friday to check out what Robin and Alicia have for you too!

Until next week, have a wonderful week and go create something wonderful!!

Strolling through the park one day ...

. . . in the merry, merry month of May!

Happy Tuesday Dies R Us friends!
Tuesday means I, Darlene, have a creation to share with you using dies from the Dies R Us Store!

What a beautiful day to take a stroll in the park, so that is my theme today!

This sweet baby carriage and garden bench worked perfectly with my Crafty Secrets image.
And the pink 'doily' is actually the 'inside cut' from the Cheery Lynn Designs Polynesian Sails Oval die set.
A touch of sparkle was all that was needed to finish my sweet 'stroll in the park' scene.

Dies used on today's creation are:
Spellbinder 'Blooms 4' - S2-047
Spellbinder 'Garden Bench' - S2-085
Memory Box 'Baby Carriage' - #98528
Cheery Lynn Designs 'Polynesian Sails Oval' - DL153
Poppystamps 'Massa Leaf Outline' - #1023

Stencils used:
Memory Box 'Florina' - #88567
Memory Box 'Texture Mesh' - #88517
Did you notice the stencilling in the background?

I am having so much fun using these Memory Box stencils on the backgrounds for my cards.  Here I've actually used it over top of an already beautiful design paper to give even more 'depth'.  I've used Tim Holtz 'spun sugar' and 'peeled paint' distress inks for my stencil sponging.

The embossing on this Spellbinder Blooms 4 set is beautiful and shows up beautifully when 'curled' the opposite direction from the flower I've created today.  That's the fun of these dies ... you can condition them, spray them, ink them, crumple them and curl them any way you'd like to create a variety of flower patterns and looks!  Give it a try ... so much fun!  And this Poppystamp 'Massa Leaf Outline' is quickly becoming one of my favorites!

I hope you've found inspiration in today's card creation and will come share YOUR creations with US at our new Dies R Us Challenge Blog. A brand new challenge starts Thursday (15th).

Stop back tomorrow to see what Sherri has created ... you won't want to miss it!  And, I'll be back with another inspiration piece to share with you next Tuesday!  Until then . . .

Love Bots

Greetings Dies R Us fans!
I hope you've had a wonderful week, and being a Friday, the weekend is just around the corner too.

My card for you this week was created using a brand new die in my (ever growing) collection.

Dies used in this card include:

The image I've used is called Love Bots from Kadoodle Bug Designs and its been coloured using Copics. Here is a closer look at this cute couple.

I used the plain frame from Elizabeth Craft Designs - Square with Circle Frame Edges die as I wanted the detail of the paper to show, however this crafty little die includes a swirl and spot option for the 4" frame too. I've lined it up so that some of the black background cardstock acts as part of the frame too.

I've cut out the image and sentiment with the Spellbinders Standard Circle die. I've also used one of the small circle dies to cut a backing for my washi tape rosette flower. They are super easy to make and are a great alternative to flowers. They don't take long to make either. All you have to do it constantly pleat the washi tape around the circle in layers until the whole circle is covered.

I've finished off this card with some Liquid Pearls and sequins, for that little bit of bling.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I've inspired you with my little Love Bots! And don't forget to check out these and all of the other wonderful dies available at the Dies R Us shop.

If you haven't already joined in our brand new Challenge Blog, our first challenge is open for a few more days (until May 13) before Challenge #2 starts on May 15th. Come over and join in the fun.
